It is nearly 12 months since I wrote in my blog. Many reasons. None satisfactory. One can explain this as writers block as I was busy with the publication of my two books, The first one Family Physician's life saw the light of the day in early 20004 and the next one Tales from a family physician's bag, in the month of April this year. Both these have been well received by the profession and people. My not writing in my blog is partly because of this involvement in writing the books and the nitty gritty of getting these edited and then promoting. In both I am not good at and took considerable time. But for the efforts of my patients, Shwetha Reddy and family, Dipankar Vasu Malik, Dhurba Biswas and encouragement by others like Kalpana Kar, Swathi and Srikar Reddy, Col Dr Mohan Kubendra, the second book would probably not have published.
Shwetha in particular, despite her full time Job as an IT professional, took it on herself and spend many hours going through the book and if one doesn't find any spell or grammar error in the second book, the credit should go to her mainly and some extent to to Dhurba and Dipankar.
Both the titles are available on Amazon
But the trigger which motivated me to restart the blog is the death three days back of an extraordinary human being, novelist, thinker, historian philosopher, Mr S.L Bhyrappa. Though he wrote in kannada, his books are available in many languages including English. He was a seeker of truth and his truth was based on meticulous research. We Indian tend to gloss over the truth of history and are even at times ashamed of accepting it. But Bhyrappa was made of a different genre, He told many a unpleasant truth submerged in volumes of wishy washy left leaning literature, which made us Indians sit up and take note of. In the bargain in some influential [say leftist] quarters he was very unpopular. It is common knowledge that both Bharath Rathna and Jnanapeet awards eluded him for this reason.
One must die, and 94 he was when he died. He left all his earnings to the cause of upliftment of poor childern.
His legacy will continue for years to come.
